The Garden is a down to earth boutique hotel with a feeling of home. The Garden is located in the cozy local community of vibrant and authentic Paje, only a few hundred metres from the beach. Our humble hotel comprises of 7 double rooms and two family rooms; all spacious, air conditioned, with hot water and a charming décor.


Meet fellow guests of The Garden in a cozy atmosphere at our restaurant, open kitchen, swimming pool, yoga studio, or outdoor “Swahili fitness”. If you dare, join the football players on the local football field where exciting games take place daily (or just watch – we offer the best seats at our yoga terrace).


We opened our doors to the first guests in December 2022, our staff is locally hired, and we believe in sourcing what we can from Zanzibar.

We really enjoyed our stay at „the garden“ and would definitely recommend staying there! The interior of the place was well chosen, it was very clean and the staff was really helpful.
Also the breakfast is so delecious! The best breakfast we had in Tanzania (and we’ve been staying in Tanzania for 8 weeks)

Amazing place where you want to visit again. Great location - close to the beach. Spacious rooms, cleanliness and furnished simply amazing.
The yard makes you feel like you are in paradise - sand, swimming pool and all flora around.
The breakfast was more than special - coffee and freshly squished mango passion fruit juice.

Everything is brand new, the room was cozy and bed comfortable, swimming pool cleaned daily, breakfast just amazing, staff super friendly, good wifi.
Located a few minutes walking from the beach and from the Main Street, very quiet at night as it is not right next to the bars playing loud music.

We extended our stay at the Garden because it was so nice!
The garden and swimmingpool looks beautiful and also the breakfast is really good with healthy food: fresh fruit, fresh bananabread and tea from the garden for example.
The staff are very friendly. It is also a quiet area, at night too so you can sleep very well.
It was a wonderful stay, thank you so much!
